This article discusses the recent proposals made by Anjum Hussain for improving railway facilities in Saharsa.
In Saharsa, Anjum Hussain, a member of the DRUCC, recently presented eight important points to the DRM during a meeting. This took place on Wednesday and focused on various railway issues affecting the local community.
Hussain highlighted that the yard remodelling project has been approved for a long time but has yet to start. He mentioned that the dust pollution from the Gangjala rack point, where materials are unloaded, is affecting the city’s air quality and suggested relocating it.
Another concern raised was about the Polytechnic Gate number 104, which has been approved for an overbridge. Currently, this gate often remains closed due to heavy train traffic, causing significant delays for vehicles in the city.
He also pointed out the need for an overbridge near Hatiya Gachhi Gate number 105 due to frequent traffic jams. The introduction of the Vande Bharat train at Patliputra station will help passengers travel to Patna more conveniently.
Moreover, he urged for the construction of a foot overbridge at Panchgachiya station to prevent accidents and improve safety. Improvements to local roads and the restoration of the State Rani Express service from Saharsa Junction are also on his agenda to enhance travel for local passengers.
