Indian Railways has officially introduced the ‘Rail One’ super app to simplify the travel experience for millions of passengers. This new digital platform integrates various services such as IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, NTES, and Rail Madad into one single application. Launched by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the app aims to eliminate the hassle of maintaining multiple mobile applications for different railway needs. At stations like Nazibabad, railway officials including CMI RK Meena and Booking Supervisors are already conducting awareness camps to help passengers transition to this new system.
What are the key features and services of the Rail One app?
The Rail One app serves as a comprehensive tool for every traveler, offering a variety of functions that were previously scattered across different platforms. Users can now manage everything from basic ticketing to high-end travel planning within the same interface. The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms and supports multiple Indian languages to ensure ease of use for people across the country.
- Ticketing: Book reserved, unreserved (general), and platform tickets. It also supports monthly season tickets.
- Live Information: Real-time train tracking, delay updates, and platform numbers.
- Food on Track: Order meals directly to your seat from IRCTC-approved vendors.
- Grievance Redressal: Integrated Rail Madad for quick complaint registration.
- Additional Services: Booking for retiring rooms, lounges, and even coolie services.
Important dates and system updates for passengers
The transition to Rail One marks a significant shift in how the railway handles digital transactions and security. With the launch of this super app, older systems like the independent UTS app have been phased out to centralize data and services. This move is also tied to the upcoming modern Passenger Reservation System (PRS) which will handle a massive volume of inquiries and bookings every minute.
