Impact on City Connectivity and Future Plans
The Kesharbagh crossing currently shuts down about 20 to 25 times every day, causing massive delays for thousands of vehicles. Once the overbridge is operational, these traffic snarls will be resolved, ensuring a smooth passage for daily travelers. Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani stated that this project aligns with the vision of making Indore a major railway hub with better coordination between road and rail networks.
This initiative is part of a larger plan to make Indore a railway gate-free city. Similar work is already in progress at five other locations including Reti Mandi, Ban-ganga, and Mangliya. Additionally, the Indore Development Authority is working on widening the existing overbridge at MR-10 to further support the growing urban traffic needs.
