Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala has rolled out its first 16-car Vande Bharat Chair Car train. This train uses a propulsion system provided by Alstom. This train is the first combination of RCF manufacturing and Alstom propulsion. It is designed for smoother running and better speed. The 16-coach configuration allows for more passenger capacity. It includes modern features like reclining seats, automatic sliding doors, and bio-vacuum toilets for a better travel experience.
Where will the high-speed trials take place?
The train is being prepared for high-speed trials to reach 180 kmph. The trial section for this process is identified as Nagda to Kota to Shamgarh. Earlier, a Vande Bharat sleeper train also completed a 180 kmph safety trial on the Kota-Nagda section under the supervision of the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
How will this affect Vande Bharat production?
Until now, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai was the only place making these trains. Now, RCF Kapurthala has also started production. This change will help Indian Railways build Vande Bharat trains faster and increase the number of these trains on the network.
