The Dausa Railway Station in Rajasthan has officially completed its transformation under the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. With an investment of approximately 15.17 crore rupees, the station has been upgraded to meet the evolving needs of modern rail travelers. According to Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, the project focuses on elevating the passenger experience through aesthetic improvements and advanced utility features.
Key highlights of the redevelopment include:
- A grand, newly designed station entrance.
- Construction of a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) for seamless passenger movement.
- Comprehensive upgrades to waiting rooms and modern toilet facilities.
- Inclusive infrastructure for differently-abled passengers, including ramps, lifts, help booths, and special restrooms.
- Enhanced safety and information systems featuring CCTV surveillance and new train/coach indication boards.
- Sustainable energy solutions, including solar power installations and rainwater harvesting systems.
Modern Infrastructure for All
The redevelopment project places a strong emphasis on accessibility. Beyond the physical structure, the station now features improved signage and dedicated parking facilities designed to assist all commuters. By integrating eco-friendly initiatives, the station sets a benchmark for sustainable development in the North Western Railway zone, ensuring that the infrastructure is not only modern but also environmentally conscious.
Clarification on Inauguration Reports
While the station is fully equipped and ready for operations, there is currently no official update regarding an inauguration ceremony by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 16 or 17, 2026. While earlier reports speculated about a potential visit, no formal confirmation has been issued by the authorities. It is important to note that this railway station project is separate from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s first phase, which was previously inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Dausa on February 12, 2023. Passengers and local residents are advised to rely on official channels for updates regarding any future public events at the station.
