Passengers travelling through Delhi Cantt Railway Station should prepare for significant travel adjustments as a major infrastructure upgrade project begins this summer. The Delhi Division of Northern Railway has announced that essential renovation work on platforms 2 and 3 will commence on July 16, 2026, and is scheduled to continue until October 13, 2026. During this 90-day period, commuters can expect various diversions and operational changes affecting more than 70 trains, with North Western Railway services seeing the most notable impact.
Key Service Adjustments and Diversions
To facilitate the construction work, authorities have implemented specific changes to routes and station halts. Most notably, the Jaipur-Delhi Cantt-Jaipur Express (19701/19702) will be diverted to Shakurbasti station instead of its usual terminus at Delhi Cantt. Additionally, 19 trains will lose their temporary halt at Delhi Cantt for the duration of the project. These trains include the Bikaner-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Udaipur City-Yoganagari Rishikesh Special, Jodhpur-Gorakhpur Special, Bhagat ki Kothi-Kamakhya Express, Ajmer-Yoganagari Rishikesh Special, Udaipur City-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Jodhpur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Jodhpur-Delhi, Sabarmati-Delhi, Okha-Shakurbasti Special, Jaisalmer-Delhi, Bhavnagar-Shakurbasti Special, Bandra Terminus-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Sabarmati-Haridwar Special, Bhuj-Bareilly, Lalgarh-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Sikar-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, and the Jodhpur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla.
