What is the current status of the Balrampur railway line?
Railway officials have intensified surveys in 66 villages across the Sadar and Utraula tehsils. Deputy Chief Engineer Ravindra Mehra confirmed that measurements are already complete in 10 villages of Utraula. District Magistrate Pawan Agarwal is currently verifying drone surveys in 35 villages of Utraula and 33 villages of Sadar to ensure accurate land acquisition.
Which areas and stations will benefit from this project?
The project will provide direct rail services to towns like Utraula, Shridattganj, and Kapauwa Sherpur. Notably, Utraula will get rail connectivity for the first time in 78 years. The Balrampur station will be upgraded to a junction, and six new stations will be built. Halt stations are planned for villages including Hansuwadol, Khagijot, Maheshbhari, and Kapauwasherpur.
