Summer Special Trains: Indian Railways to run 12 special trains for Jharkhand and West Bengal

Indian Railways has announced 12 summer special trains to manage the rush of passengers traveling from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Telangana to Jharkhand and West Bengal. These trains will provide significant relief to passengers from Bihar and Jharkhand, especially those using stations under the Asansol Division. The move comes as a response to the increased demand during summer vacations and upcoming festivals.

The railway has scheduled several special services to ease the travel pressure. The Udhna-Malda Town Special (09063/09064) starts on April 27, while the Gandhidham-Malda Town Special (09463/09464) begins on April 25. Additionally, the Sabarmati BG-Asansol Special (09435/09436) will start from Sabarmati on April 29. For those traveling from Sultanpur, the Sultanpur-Dakuni Special (04250/04249) begins its journey on April 24.

According to official data, Indian Railways has approved a massive plan to run 908 summer special trains, covering a total of 18,262 trips between April 15 and July 15, 2026. This decision was reviewed by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi to ensure smooth movement for migrant workers, students, and families.
