To accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festival season, the Jodhpur Division of Indian Railways is deploying 36 temporary extra coaches across 14 pairs of trains. This strategic move aims to ensure a smoother travel experience for commuters, following a similar trend seen in previous months where the division successfully managed demand during the summer holidays and the Diwali-Chhath Puja period. Key highlights of these operational updates include:

Service Upgrades and Regularization
The North Western Railway has confirmed that the Kacheguda-Sriganganagar-Kacheguda weekly special train (07053/07054) will be upgraded to a regular weekly express service (17601/17602). The new service will commence from Kacheguda on July 25, 2026, and from Sriganganagar on July 28, 2026. Passengers should note that there will be minor timing adjustments at Akola and Malkapur stations. Furthermore, the Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express received a major boost in May 2026, with its configuration expanded from 8 to 20 coaches, increasing passenger capacity from 530 to 1440 seats.
Traffic Disruptions and Route Diversions
While the division focuses on capacity building, infrastructure work is currently underway, leading to temporary service changes. Due to girder launching operations between Kuchaman City and Naya Khardiya, and between Umed and Kharia Khangar, some trains are facing disruptions. Specifically, the Jodhpur-Hisar train (14891) stands cancelled for September 25, 2026. Additionally, the Hisar-Coimbatore train (22475), which departed on July 22, 2026, has been diverted to run through Surat, Jalgaon, Igatpuri, Panvel, and Roha. This route change means the train will bypass several scheduled stops, including Raikabagh, Jodhpur Cantt, Merta Road, and Kuchaman City. Passengers are advised to check the latest schedules before planning their travel.
