Railway officials aim to finish their portion of the work by August 2026. The Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited has stated that the remaining work, including three spans on the Sonbarsa end, will be completed by November 30, 2026. A 62-meter long arched girder is being prepared and is expected to be launched by August 15, 2026.

The total estimated cost of the project has reached between 86 crore and 120 crore rupees. For the approach roads, a revised estimate of 110.42 crore rupees has been made. The project follows a 50:50 cost-sharing model between the Indian Railways (Central Government) and the Bihar Government.
