South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to convert several special train services into regular daily and weekly trains. This move aims to provide better connectivity and more convenience for passengers traveling across Bengaluru, Hubballi, and Mysuru routes. The change follows directives from the Railway Board to stabilize these services.
Which trains are now running daily
Several passenger and MEMU services have been upgraded to daily operations to help commuters. The Hubballi-Vijayapura route now sees trains 56919/56920 and 66501/66502 running every day from May 11-12, 2026. Additionally, the Bengaluru-Channapatna passenger (56229/56230) started its daily run on May 11, 2026.

SWR has regularized 12 pairs of special trains so far. Chief Public Relations Officer Manjunath Kanamadi stated that the process is ongoing and the remaining trains will be addressed within a month. However, Karnataka Railway Vedike’s K.N. Krishna Prasad suggested that all 19 trains should have been regularized immediately to avoid extra charges for passengers.
