Western Railway Update: ABS system commissioning in Udhna-Chaltahan section, check affected trains

Western Railway will carry out the commissioning of the Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) system in the Udhna-Chaltahan section from May 13 to May 15, 2026. This work involves non-interlocking operations at Udhna, Niyol, and Chalthan stations to improve train movement and efficiency. Due to this mega block, several trains will be short-terminated or short-originated, and some long-distance services will face delays.

Which trains will be short-terminated or short-originated?

Several passenger and special trains will not run their full route on May 12 and May 13, 2026. The details are as follows:

What will be the impact on other trains and freight?

Long-distance trains like Chennai–Ahmedabad and Kakinada–Hisar may be delayed by 30 to 40 minutes. Other mail and express trains might run 10 to 15 minutes late. However, Bandra–Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Dadar–Porbandar trains could face delays of up to two and a half hours. Freight trains may be detained for four to eight hours or diverted through the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).

What is the station-wise block schedule?

The railway authorities have planned the work in phases to manage traffic. The block will be implemented at Udhna station on May 13, followed by Niyol railway station on May 14, and finally at Chalthan station on May 15. Passengers can check detailed timing and composition at www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in.
