Officials have announced that three current Vande Bharat trains with 16 coaches will be upgraded to 20 coaches. Additionally, four trains that have 8 coaches will be changed to have 16 coaches. This upgrade aims to improve the travel experience for many passengers.

Currently, the Indian Railways operates 144 Vande Bharat train services. In recent months, the occupancy rates have been very high, reaching over 100%. This indicates that many people are using these trains, which justifies the need for longer trains.

In addition to these changes, there are 10 Vande Bharat sleeper trains being made right now. The Integral Coach Factory in Chennai is also working on producing more sleeper trains, with plans for 50 more to be built soon. Contracts have also been given out for making 200 additional sleeper trains.

Overall, with these changes, the Indian Railways aims to meet the growing needs of travelers. Passengers can expect more space and comfort on their journeys in the near future.

Summary:

  • New sleeper trains are also being produced.

  • These changes aim to enhance passenger experience.
