Indian Railways is gearing up to run 12,000 special trains in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar as the festival season approaches. This is to help millions of people traveling home for Diwali and Chhath Puja, which are significant festivals in India.

The Union Railways Minister has announced that more than 150 extra unreserved trains will be added to meet the high demand from last-minute travelers. This initiative aims to make travel smoother and more efficient during these busy times.


These special trains will operate from October 1 to November 15, accommodating around 2-3 crore passengers. This means families can easily return home for the celebrations without the stress of finding transport.
