Dharhara Railway Station is getting a major upgrade to make travel easier for passengers. The Malda Rail Division is speeding up development work to provide modern facilities at the station. What new facilities are coming to Dharhara Station?
The railway department is installing coach display boards and Main Line Display Boards (MLDB) on platform number 1 and 2. A computerized miking system and new clocks are also being set up under the platform sheds. These updates will help passengers get accurate information about train arrivals, departures, and coach positions.
When will the modernization work be completed?
The modernization plan for the station received approval in September 2025. The railway administration has set a target to complete all the project work by August 30, 2026. Officials have already issued work orders for the announcement systems and display boards.
How will passenger safety and information be improved?
Apart from information systems, the railway will install CCTV cameras across the platforms and the entire station premises to ensure passenger safety. The focus is to make the station more passenger-friendly by reducing confusion through automated announcements and clear digital displays.
