While Mumbai suburban services remain largely stable, passengers traveling on long-distance routes should prepare for cancellations and diversions. Key updates for travelers include:
- Cancellation of Udhna-Nandurbar MEMU (69177/69178) for July 25 due to waterlogging.
- Cancellation of over 13 long-distance trains, including 12935 Bandra Terminus-Surat Express and 19101 Virar-Bharuch Express, for July 25 and 26.
- Extension of eight festival special trains connecting Mumbai, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh until late August and September 2026.
- Temporary suspension of Mumbai PRS services between 11:45 PM on July 25 and 3:15 AM on July 26.
Operational Status and Service Disruptions
Despite the challenges posed by the weather, Mumbai Local trains on the Churchgate-Dahanu Road and Harbour lines are currently operating normally. While the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route has seen partial restoration, passengers should expect significant delays due to speed restrictions and ongoing repair work on bridges between Gholvad and Umbergaon. Furthermore, the Bandra Terminus-Bhavnagar Terminus Express (12971) has been diverted via the Ahmedabad-Gandhigram-Botad route.
Important Maintenance and Block Updates
Western Railway has scheduled a night jumbo block between Mumbai Central and Mahim from 12:25 AM to 4:25 AM on July 25-26, which will result in fast local trains being diverted to slow lines. Additionally, Central Railway will conduct a mega block on the Thane-Vashi/Nerul Trans Harbour lines on July 26 from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM, leading to scheduled service cancellations. A separate block at Mulund is also planned for Foot Over Bridge girder work.

In a positive development for travelers, Western Railway has extended the run of several festival specials to meet high demand. Notable extensions include the Bandra Terminus-Bhavnagar City (09207), Bandra Terminus-Bhuj (09037/09009), and the Udhna-Subedarganj special (04156/04155), which will now operate until September 1, 2026.
