Modernizing Rail Infrastructure
The transformation of Jind railway station is a key component of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a nationwide initiative aimed at upgrading 1,308 railway stations. Under this project, 71 stations under Northern Railways were selected for the initial phase. The renovation project focused on enhancing passenger accessibility, creating dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones, and beautifying the circulating area with local art and historical monuments to reflect the region’s heritage.
A Leap Toward Green Mobility
The introduction of the hydrogen-powered train marks a historic shift toward sustainable transportation for Indian Railways. Designed, engineered, and integrated entirely in India, this project aligns with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised the initiative, noting that the hydrogen trainset project represents a major leap in promoting green mobility across the country. Following the inauguration ceremony at the railway station, the Prime Minister is expected to address a public gathering at Eklavya Stadium, highlighting the government’s continued focus on infrastructure development in the region.
