Which cities will the Bullet Train cover in Bihar?
The proposed corridor spans approximately 750 km between Varanasi and Siliguri. According to the plan, the high-speed train will have stoppages at several key locations in Bihar. These include Buxar, Arrah, Patna, Mokama, Maner, Katihar, and Kishanganj. To avoid congestion within the main city, authorities plan to build a state-of-the-art bullet train station for Patna within a radius of 15 to 20 km from the city center.
What is the expected speed and travel time?
This high-speed rail project focuses on drastically reducing travel time for passengers. The trains are expected to operate at speeds ranging from 300 km/h to 350 km/h. This speed will bring down the travel time between Varanasi and Siliguri from the current 14-18 hours to under 3 hours.
