The Agra Railway Division recently executed a large-scale ticket checking operation across its major stations to curb unauthorized travel. During the drive conducted on Wednesday, officials identified 807 passengers who were either traveling without tickets or with irregular permits. The intensive checking resulted in the recovery of over ₹5.16 lakh in fines from these violators at Agra Cantt, Agra Fort, and Mathura Junction stations.
How many passengers were penalized during the railway operation?
The checking teams caught a significant number of passengers violating railway norms. Out of the 807 passengers caught, 340 were found traveling without any ticket, and they contributed ₹2.83 lakh to the total fine collected. Another 466 passengers were caught for irregular travel, resulting in a fine of ₹2.31 lakh. Additionally, one passenger was fined ₹490 for carrying unbooked luggage beyond the allowed limit. These actions were taken to ensure that only genuine passengers use the train services.
Which officials and stations were involved in the checking drive?
The campaign was directed by Senior DCM Ankit Gupta with the support of DCM Virendra Singh Chauhan and Assistant Commercial Manager Sanjay Gautam. Dedicated teams were deployed at specific locations to ensure no violator could escape the check.

- Mathura Junction: The checking was supervised by Chief Ticket Inspector Nagendra Tiwari.
