Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: Work underway at 85 railway stations in Rajasthan

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on June 11, 2026, that the redevelopment of railway stations in Rajasthan is moving forward under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Currently, work is active at 85 stations across the state, with 15 stations already completing their upgrades. This initiative aims to modernize travel facilities for passengers in both big and small cities.

Which stations in Rajasthan have completed the work?

The Ministry of Railways confirmed that 15 stations in Rajasthan have already finished their redevelopment. These include stations that serve various districts and border areas to ensure better connectivity and passenger comfort.

Barmer, Bundi, Dausa, Deeg, Deshnoke
Fatehpur Shekhawati, Gangapur City, Gogamedi, Govind Garh, Rajgarh
Khairthal, Jaisalmer, Mandalgarh, Mandawar Mahua Road, Somesar

What new facilities will passengers get at these stations?

The government is focusing on a master plan to improve basic amenities for every traveler. Special attention is being given to accessibility, waiting rooms, clean toilets, and better seating arrangements. Other improvements include drinking water facilities, parking areas, and special aids for divyangjan (differently-abled passengers). The plan also includes free Wi-Fi and ‘One Station One Product’ kiosks to support local artisans.

What is the progress of the scheme across India?

On a national level, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has identified 1,337 stations for development. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that out of 450 priority stations across the country, work on 200 is nearing completion. The goal is to turn these stations into city centers by improving the approach roads and integrating them with other modes of transport.
