Indian Railways has introduced a new initiative to promote digital ticketing and reduce station congestion. Passengers booking unreserved or general train tickets through the RailOne mobile application will now receive a 3% discount on their fares. This move is part of the ongoing Digital India campaign and aims to make travel more affordable for daily commuters and short-distance travelers.
How to avail the discount on train tickets
The discount is specifically available for tickets booked through the RailOne mobile app. This app replaced the older UTS on Mobile system from 1 March 2026. To get the benefit, users must pay for their tickets using digital methods such as UPI, debit cards, credit cards, or net banking. Additionally, those using the R-Wallet for bookings will continue to receive the existing 3% bonus cashback, effectively providing extra savings for regular users.
