To ensure seamless travel for thousands of pilgrims heading to the historic Gogamedi Mela, the North Western Railway has announced a comprehensive plan to boost connectivity. Starting from late August, the railway will operate six pairs of special train services and provide a temporary stoppage for the Bandra Express at Gogamedi station to accommodate the massive influx of devotees. The Gogamedi Mela is set to run from August 28 to September 26, 2026, with the main festivities centering around Goga Navami on September 5, 2026.
Key highlights of the special arrangements include:
- Introduction of six pairs of special trains to handle passenger traffic.
- The Rewari–Gogamedi–Rewari Special (04791/04792) will run for a total of 14 trips across two phases.
- The Sadulpur–Gogamedi–Sadulpur Special (04707/04708) will provide daily connectivity for 30 trips throughout the fair duration.
- A temporary halt has been granted to the Shri Ganganagar-Bandra Terminus-Shri Ganganagar Express (14701/14702) at Gogamedi station.
Details of Special Train Schedules
The Rewari–Gogamedi–Rewari Special (04791/04792) will operate in two distinct phases: from August 31 to September 9, 2026 (10 trips), and from September 18 to September 21, 2026 (4 trips). Train No. 04791 departs Rewari at 06:15 and arrives at Gogamedi at 10:15, while the return leg, Train No. 04792, departs Gogamedi at 10:45 and reaches Rewari at 16:50. This service will be equipped with 17 coaches to manage the expected crowd.
For those travelling from Sadulpur, the Sadulpur–Gogamedi–Sadulpur Special (04707/04708) will run daily from August 28 to September 26, 2026, completing a total of 30 trips. Train No. 04707 departs Sadulpur at 11:35 and arrives at Gogamedi at 13:20, while the return train, 04708, leaves Gogamedi at 14:40 to reach Sadulpur at 15:55. This service will utilize 9 coaches.
Enhanced Connectivity for Long-Distance Pilgrims
Recognizing the need for better connectivity for long-distance travellers, North Western Railway has also facilitated a temporary stoppage for the Shri Ganganagar-Bandra Terminus-Shri Ganganagar Express (14701/14702) at Gogamedi station. This strategic move ensures that devotees coming from distant regions can reach the fairground with greater ease.
