Passengers travelling through the South Eastern Railway’s Kharagpur division should note that significant rail traffic disruptions are expected until August 13. Due to essential non-interlocking (NI) work currently underway at Balasore station, the railway administration has announced the cancellation of six pairs of MEMU trains, along with the partial rescheduling of other services. Passengers are strongly advised to check the latest train status before heading to the station to avoid inconvenience.
Key updates regarding the service changes include:
- Six pairs of MEMU trains have been completely cancelled until August 13.
- Partial termination and short-origination have been implemented for two specific train routes.
- The Bhadrak-Balasore-Bhadrak section will see specific service restrictions on August 12 and 13.
List of Cancelled MEMU Trains
To facilitate the ongoing infrastructure work, the following trains will remain cancelled: 68049/68050 Kharagpur-Bhadrak-Kharagpur MEMU, 68051/68052 Balasore-Bhadrak-Balasore MEMU, 68187/68188 Balasore-Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore MEMU, 68185/68186 Balasore-Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore MEMU, 68189/68190 Balasore-Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore MEMU, and 68021/68022 Kharagpur-Balasore-Kharagpur MEMU.
Partial Termination and Schedule Adjustments
In addition to the cancellations, the railway has adjusted the routes of other MEMU services to ensure operational continuity despite the NI work. The 68180 Baripada-Balasore MEMU will be partially terminated at Rupsa, and its return service, the 68181 Balasore-Baripada MEMU, will now originate from Rupsa instead of Balasore.
Furthermore, the 68051/68052 Balasore-Bhubaneswar-Balasore MEMU will be partially terminated and originate from Bhadrak. Specifically, the service between Bhadrak and Balasore will remain cancelled on August 12 and August 13.
