Heavy rainfall across Maharashtra and Gujarat has caused severe disruptions to railway services. The Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express is running over 14 hours late, and more than 40 trains have been impacted. Waterlogging and landslides have forced the railways to suspend or reschedule several services to ensure passenger safety.

How are train services affected in Maharashtra and Gujarat?

Western Railway reported that train movement near Sachin station in Surat remained suspended from July 7 evening until July 8 morning due to waterlogging. Local trains between Vasai, Nalasopara, and Virar are running 25-30 minutes late. In Maharashtra, landslides on the Lonavala-Karjat section required the deployment of 200 workers for restoration. The Mumbai-Pune route via Bhor Ghat is still not fully operational as of July 6.
