Recently, Ashok Verma, the Divisional Railway Manager of North Eastern Railway in Lucknow, visited the Unchahar railway station. He was there to look at the ongoing developments and improvements in the area.
During his visit, Verma mentioned that about 1350 railway stations across the country are being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Among these, 40 stations are located in the Lucknow division.
He pointed out that there were delays in starting work at Unchahar and three other stations. The delay is mainly due to plans for doubling the tracks and adding a third line at these stations, which means construction needs careful planning.
Verma also addressed the issue of stone-pelting incidents on Vande Bharat trains. He said that both the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) are investigating these cases, as placing stones on the tracks is a serious crime.
To tackle this problem, the railway is running awareness campaigns in nearby villages and schools. This initiative aims to educate the public and prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
