The station is being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme with a focus on modernizing infrastructure and enhancing passenger comfort. During the inspection, the DRM emphasized maintaining high quality in construction materials and ensuring a timely finish for the project before the scheduled inauguration.
What are the key upgrades at Bachhrawan Railway Station?
Bachhrawan station was selected for the Amrit Bharat Scheme in 2023 with an approved budget of approximately 7 crore rupees. The redevelopment includes several significant changes to improve the overall passenger experience and station aesthetics.
- Renovation of the main station building and the external facade.
- Installation of new platform sheds for better weather protection.
- Reconstruction of the main entrance gate to improve accessibility.
- Upgradation of waiting rooms, toilets, and drinking water facilities.
- Ongoing painting and finishing work across the station premises.
When will the redevelopment work be completed?
The DRM has directed officials to accelerate the work to meet the upcoming deadlines and maintain safety standards. Assistant Divisional Engineer Manish Kumar stated that high-level officials are expected to inaugurate the revamped station in April 2026. This inspection follows a previous visit by the Gati Shakti team from New Delhi and Lucknow in January 2026 to monitor the quality of construction. The DRM also issued strict instructions regarding safety measures to ensure that daily operations remain smooth during this final phase.
