Indian Railways has announced a massive plan to manage the heavy rush of passengers during the summer vacations. To reduce waiting lists and make travel easier, the ministry approved 908 summer special trains between April 15 and July 15, 2026. These trains will complete a total of 18,262 trips across the country.
What are the special train arrangements by SECR
South East Central Railway (SECR) is operating 18 summer special trains to handle the increased demand. These trains will run for a total of 88 trips. Out of these, 13 special trains have already started their operations, and the remaining 75 trips will be conducted in phases.
To help passengers, SECR has improved facilities at busy stations like Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Gondia, Itwari, Raigarh, and Shahdol. Improvements include more ticket counters, better drinking water facilities, cleaner waiting rooms, and better security.
