The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will launch a revamped website by July 15, 2026. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this update during a meeting with students at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) in Jaipur on June 11, 2026. The decision came after students raised concerns about the current platform’s performance.

Why is the IRCTC website being changed?
The upgrade follows direct complaints from students regarding technical glitches. Users frequently faced issues with slow loading times, website crashes, and difficult CAPTCHA verification. These problems were most prominent during Tatkal booking hours, leading to payment failures and session timeouts. Minister Vaishnaw instructed officials to develop a better system within 30 days to resolve these frustrations.
What are the new features and improvements?
The new platform is designed to be more stable and scalable, capable of handling ten times the current traffic. It will include a fare calendar, seat choice options, and multilingual support. Special integrated facilities for students, patients, and Divyangjan will also be available to make the process more inclusive.
| Feature | Current Capacity | New Capacity |
