Northern Railway has announced a new update for passengers traveling from Kolkata to Jammu Tawi. To help people visiting the Vaishno Devi Temple during the summer holidays, an extra sleeper coach will be added to the Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express. This move aims to reduce overcrowding and provide more confirmed seats to passengers on the waiting list.
When will the additional coach be available?
The railway administration decided to attach the extra sleeper coach for a specific period to manage the summer rush. This facility will be available from April 25 to July 2. Passengers planning their trip to Jammu during these dates can now expect better berth availability.
Why was this decision taken by Northern Railway?
The decision was taken primarily to facilitate devotees going to the Vaishno Devi Temple. Since summer vacations see a huge spike in travel, the waiting lists often become very long. By adding another sleeper coach, Indian Railways will reduce the crowd and make the journey more comfortable for common passengers.
