Heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions have severely impacted train operations in the Rupsa–Bangriposi section under the South Eastern Railway. To ensure passenger safety and the integrity of the railway infrastructure, authorities have announced the cancellation of multiple MEMU services for Monday, August 17. Additionally, the route for a key express train has been short-terminated to prevent any risks during the ongoing maintenance work.

Cancelled MEMU Services
Due to the inclement weather, the South Eastern Railway has officially cancelled the following local services for Monday, August 17:
- 68181 Rupsa–Baripada MEMU
- 68183 Baripada–Bangriposi MEMU
- 68182 Bangriposi–Baripada MEMU
- 68184 Baripada–Rupsa MEMU
- 68173 Rupsa–Bhanjpur MEMU
Changes in Express Train Operations
Apart from the local MEMU cancellations, the long-distance connectivity has also been adjusted for safety reasons. The 18007 Shalimar–Bhanjpur Express, scheduled for August 17, will be short-terminated at Rupsa station. Consequently, its return journey, the 18008 Bhanjpur–Shalimar Express scheduled for August 18, will not depart from Bhanjpur but will instead originate from Rupsa station.
Maintenance and Safety Priority
Railway officials stated that the continuous heavy rainfall has necessitated immediate maintenance work to ensure the safety and reliability of the rail infrastructure in the affected section. The administration is working on a priority basis to restore normalcy. Passengers are advised to check the status of their trains before heading to the station and keep an eye on official updates from the railway helpline or the IRCTC portal.
