East Central Railway carried out Non-Interlocking (NI) work at Neura station under the Danapur division. This work was done to improve rail connectivity on the Neura-Jatdumri new rail line. Because of this, several trains were cancelled, diverted, or ran with significant delays on April 26, 2026.
Which trains were cancelled on April 26
The mega block led to the cancellation of several passenger and MEMU services. The affected trains included:
- Patna-DDU Passenger
- Patna-Ara Passenger
- DDU-Buxar Passenger
- Patna-DDU MEMU Express
- DDU-Patna MEMU Express
How were other trains affected
Many express and special trains had to change their routes or were partially terminated. For example, the Jaynagar-Ara Express ended its journey at Danapur on April 25, and the Durg-Ara South Bihar Express only went up to Rajendra Nagar. CPRO Saraswati Chandra confirmed these changes were necessary for the NI upgrade to strengthen the Neura-Jatdumri line.
What are the latest updates on track speed
Along with the NI work, there is good news for passengers on the Kiul-Gaya section. The permanent speed restriction on bridge number 40 between Sirari and Sheikhpura stations was removed. This change will allow trains to run faster and reduce travel time for passengers on this route.
