Vietnam Railways Update: Ticket prices will no longer be printed on train tickets from July 10

The Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has announced a change in the information printed on train tickets. Starting from July 10, the fare or ticket price will not be displayed on the physical tickets. This move is part of a digital transformation to improve passenger experience and align with flexible ticketing policies.

Why is the price being removed from tickets?

According to company officials, removing prices helps avoid confusion among passengers sitting in the same coach. Since different people may buy tickets at different times or under different promotional offers, the prices can vary. This change follows a global trend seen in many modern passenger transport systems to reduce misunderstandings regarding fare differences.

How can passengers check their ticket fare?

Even though the price will not be on the ticket, passengers can still find their fare through several official channels. The railway has provided the following options:

  • Checking the official electronic ticketing website (dsvn.vn)
  • Reviewing the booking confirmation or electronic invoice
  • Contacting staff at railway stations or ticket sales centers
  • Calling the customer service hotline

Will this change affect ticket pricing or passenger rights?

The railway administration clarified that this is only a change in the printed content of the ticket. It does not change the ticket pricing policy, passenger rights, or the transparency of fare management. Fares will continue to be decided based on the time of purchase, travel date, seat type, passenger category, and active promotional programs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When will the new ticket format be effective?

The change announced by the Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will be effective from July 10.

Where can I check my ticket price if it is not on the ticket?

Passengers can check prices on the dsvn.vn website, in their booking confirmation, electronic invoices, or by asking station staff.
