Security forces have increased vigilance at Panipat and Ambala railway stations after receiving bomb threats via email. The threats targeted the Delhi-Ambala rail line and other government offices in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) are conducting intensive searches to ensure passenger safety.

What actions were taken at Panipat and Ambala stations?

On June 5 and 6, 2026, RPF teams carried out special search operations at Panipat station, covering platforms, yards, and tracks. Security personnel checked passenger luggage and used drones for surveillance of the surrounding areas. In Ambala, IPS SP Railway Nitika Gehlot and DSP Devendra led a similar campaign with dog squads to scan the station and tracks.

Who sent the threats and what were the targets?

The threatening emails claimed to be from the ‘Khalistan National Army’. The messages warned of blasts between June 3 and June 6, 2026, targeting several locations including:

District Courts Ambala and others June 3-5, 2026
Railway Stations and Tracks Delhi-Ambala Route June 6, 2026
Temples Delhi and Haryana June 5-6, 2026

Are these threats real or a hoax?

RPF in-charge Dinesh Kumar Meena and GRP Sub-Inspector Balwan Singh confirmed that no suspicious items or explosives were found during the searches. Security agencies and Delhi Police believe these are hoax messages meant to create panic. The cyber cell is currently working to trace the origin of the emails, but no senders have been identified yet.
