Train Accident in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh

A significant train accident occurred in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, involving the Nandan Kanan Express, which was en route from Anand Vihar to Puri. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the passengers despite the severity of the incident. The accident took place when the sleeper S4 bogie of the train suddenly detached, resulting in the train breaking into two separate parts.

Timing and Response

The train departed from platform number 1 of DDU Junction at approximately 21:30 on Monday night. Just about six kilometers into its journey, the train divided into two sections. Following the incident, both segments of the train were brought back to platform numbers 7 and 8 at DDU Junction. Passengers from the affected bogey were promptly transferred to another bogey for their safety. By around 1:00 AM, the two parts of the train were successfully reconnected, and the train continued its journey.

Passenger Experience

The incident caused considerable panic among the passengers on board, who expressed their fear during the chaotic moments following the separation of the train. It is noteworthy that the Nandan Kanan Express was already running three hours late prior to the accident, and the disruption added an additional four hours to the delay, further exacerbating the situation for the travelers.
