The newly opened facility currently utilizes the ground and first floors, offering ample space for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. North Eastern Railway officials have been working diligently to bring this project to fruition to resolve the long-standing parking crunch at the station. During the construction phase, passengers faced temporary disruptions due to the closure of existing parking areas and specific gates. Notably, on June 10, 2026, a mobile crane overturned near Gate Number 6; however, as the area was cordoned off for construction, no injuries were reported.
Future Expansion and City Integration
Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar confirmed that the railway administration is committed to expediting the remaining phases of the project. The long-term vision includes adding more floors specifically for cars, ensuring the station meets the growing demand of the city. Railway authorities have clarified that this facility is distinct from the multi-level parking and commercial complex inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Ghantaghar area on April 5, 2026.
