Local businessmen in Moradabad have raised the demand for a Railway Overbridge (ROB) over the Rajhera river. The goal is to make the movement of containers easier and faster for trade. The issue was recently discussed in a meeting of the Divisional Industry Bandhu to find a workable solution for the area.

Why is the Rajhera river ROB needed?
Businessmen pointed out that containers going to the Hind Terminal on the Samda-Samdi route currently have to travel an extra 12 kilometers. A new ROB would significantly shorten this distance and save time. Businessman Tanzil Ahmed provided several suggestions to help the government plan the bridge better.
What is the current status of the project?
The Public Works Department (PWD) checked the initially proposed site and found that there is not enough space to build the bridge. Because of these land constraints, PWD officials have been asked to look for alternative locations. A PWD engineer suggested a plan to connect the route from Dear Park to Rafatpur village with the Samda-Samdi route.
Key Details of the Proposal
| Entity Involved | Role/Status |
|---|---|
| Businessmen | Initiated the demand for easier container movement |
| PWD | Reported space shortage at the first site |
| Divisional Industry Bandhu | Discussed the matter in a formal meeting |
| Hind Terminal | Current route requires 12 km extra travel |
