The Ministry of Railways shared an update on April 24, 2026, regarding the redevelopment of Narwana Railway Station in Haryana. This project is part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme which aims to provide better infrastructure and a improved travel experience for passengers. The redevelopment focuses on modernizing the station to handle more commuters with better facilities.
What new facilities will passengers get at Narwana Station?
The redevelopment plan includes several modern upgrades to make travel easier for common people. Key improvements include:
- Better waiting rooms, toilets, and drinking water booths.
- Installation of lifts and escalators for easy access.
- Improved platform surfaces and expanded covers.
- Special kiosks for local products under the One Station One Product scheme.
- Better parking areas and facilities for divyangjan (specially-abled persons).
What are the other development projects in the Narwana area?
Apart from the station building, the government is focusing on connectivity around the railway area. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced development projects worth over 300 crore rupees for the Narwana assembly constituency in August 2025. A significant part of this budget, approximately 60 crore rupees, will be used to build Railway Over Bridges (ROB) at railway crossing number 2 on Narwana-Tohana road and railway crossing number 137 on old Hisar road.
How does the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme work?
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated in February 2026 that the scheme emphasizes multimodal integration. This means passengers will have better connectivity between the railway station and other modes of transport. The plan uses eco-friendly solutions and focuses on integrating the station with the city on both sides to reduce congestion and improve access.
