The central government has allocated the full estimated cost of ₹3513.11 crore for the Rowghat-Jagdalpur new rail line in the 2026-27 budget. The project covers 140 km and received approval from the Railway Ministry around May 2025. Tender processes have already started for a 12-13 km section of this line.

The Dallirajhara-Rowghat project is nearly finished with 97% work completed. Only the 17.5 km Taroki-Rowghat section remains. Freight connectivity to Rowghat is expected within a month, and passenger trains may start in the next two to three months.
