Prayagraj Infrastructure: Construction of Mauaima Railway Overbridge begins to end traffic jams

The project is a joint effort between the State Bridge Corporation and Northern Railway. A total budget of 124 crore rupees was sanctioned for this work in December 2025. The construction is divided into two parts based on the number of pillars.

What is the current status of the work?

The work began after the government acquired 10 meters of land on both sides of the road and removed necessary trees. According to Project Manager Rohit Mishra, foundation work is finished in some sections, and piling is ongoing near the Mauaima police station. The next phase will include building peers and peer caps.

When will the overbridge be ready for public use?

Bridge In-charge SP Singh confirmed that the entire structure should be ready in about 18 months. The tender process was finalized in February 2026, and the construction is moving forward to ensure the crossing is no longer a bottleneck for commuters.
