New MEMU Train: Indian Railways to launch service between Faridabad and Old Delhi, check timings

Indian Railways is planning to start a new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) service between Faridabad and Old Delhi. What are the proposed timings and route?

The new service will operate daily with specific timings for both ways. Train number 64038 will leave Delhi at 10:30 AM and reach Faridabad by 11:45 AM. For the return journey, train number 64037 will depart from Faridabad at 2:00 PM and arrive in Delhi at 3:45 PM. There are also plans to run services between 5:35 AM and 12:12 PM.

Which stations will be covered in this route?

The MEMU train will stop at several key locations to provide maximum connectivity. It will pass through Sadar Bazar, New Delhi, Shivaji Bridge, Tilak Bridge, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Okhla, and Tughlakabad stations. This connectivity will reduce the pressure on road traffic and provide a cheaper, faster alternative for commuters.

Why is this new service being introduced?

Currently, over 5,000 passengers travel between Delhi and Faridabad daily. Before the pandemic, 23 EMU trains operated on this route, but that number has dropped to 14. The new MEMU service is designed to fill this gap and provide relief to those traveling for work or education.
