UP Train Update: 129 trains affected in July due to Gonda-Budhwal track work, check full list

Railway passengers in Uttar Pradesh will face significant disruptions in July 2026. A mega block is planned for the Gonda-Budhwal section to lay a third railway line, which will affect train operations between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. This project aims to increase train speeds and reduce travel time for passengers.

Which trains are cancelled and diverted in July?

A total of 129 trains will be impacted due to the work between Gonda and Gonda Kacheri stations. Around 31 to 34 trains will be completely cancelled, while 53 to 54 trains will run on diverted routes. Additionally, 17 trains will be short-terminated or originate from different stations, and 14 trains will be regulated.

The railway administration has made special plans for students appearing in major exams. For the police recruitment exam held from 7 June to 10 June 2026, a special unreserved exam train (05031/05032) is operating between Gorakhpur and Lucknow Junction to help candidates reach their centers on time.
